Finding records
By ID
Single-record queries such as disclosure, grant, or agreement take the record’s id, a UUID returned by every query.
opportunity also accepts the opportunity’s slug in place of its ID.
By number
The numbers you see in Tradespace, such as a disclosure number, are not IDs. To find a record by number, pass the number to the list query’s filter and read the first result. Matching is case-insensitive.
Every list query also accepts q for a text search. Each query’s q argument in the API Reference lists the fields it searches.
Patents
patent looks up a patent or published application in the global patent database by its publication or granted number. Write the number with its country and kind codes and no spaces or punctuation, for example US10000000B2 or US20230123456A1.
Organizations and assignees
- An organization is a company or institution in your account, such as a licensee or sponsor. Look one up with
organization(id:)or search withorganizations. - An assignee is a company or institution in the global assignee database. Look one up with
assignee(id:), passing its slug: the last part of the assignee’s profile URL in Tradespace (/organizations/a/<slug>). An assignee’sidfield returns the same slug.
