# Contact

GraphQL object

A person known to the account, such as an inventor, researcher, or external contact.

## Fields

- `addressStateCode` — The state code of the contact's primary address.
- `archivedAt` — The date the contact was archived. Returns null if the contact is active.
- `archivedByUser` — The user who archived the contact.
- `contactAddresses` — The contact's postal addresses.
- `contactCitizenships` — The citizenships the contact holds.
- `contactClassifications` — The links between the contact and its classifications.
- `contactDetails` — The contact's email addresses, phone numbers, and other contact methods.
- `contactOrganizations` — The contact's employment and affiliation history.
- `contactRoles` — The roles the contact holds.
- `country` — The country of the contact's primary address.
- `createdAt` — The contact's creation date.
- `createdByUser` — The user who created the contact.
- `createdByUserId` — The unique identifier of the user who created the contact.
- `degreeName` — The contact's academic degree, such as PhD.
- `departmentContacts` — The departments the contact belongs to.
- `employeeId` — The contact's employee identifier at the organization.
- `employmentStateEnum` — The contact's employment status.
- `firstName` — The contact's first name.
- `fullName` — The contact's full name.
- `fullNameWithDegree` — The contact's full name followed by their academic degree.
- `fullNameWithPreferred` — The contact's full name with the preferred name in parentheses.
- `fullNameWithPreferredAndDegree` — The contact's full name with the preferred name and academic degree.
- `genderEnum` — The contact's gender.
- `id` — The contact's unique identifier.
- `inventionAgreementSigned` — Whether the contact has signed an invention assignment agreement.
- `lastActivityAt` — The date of the most recent activity on the contact.
- `lastName` — The contact's last name.
- `linkedinUrl` — The contact's LinkedIn profile URL.
- `location` — The contact's location.
- `middleName` — The contact's middle name.
- `naiMember` — Whether the contact is a member of the National Academy of Inventors.
- `photoUrl` — The URL of the contact's photo.
- `positionTitle` — The contact's job title.
- `preferredName` — The name the contact prefers to be called.
- `stateEnum` — The contact's state.
- `titleEnum` — The contact's honorific, such as Dr or Prof.
- `typeEnum` — The contact's type, such as internal or external.
- `updatedAt` — The date the contact was last updated.
- `updatedByUser` — The user who last updated the contact.
- `updatedByUserId` — The unique identifier of the user who last updated the contact.
- `user` — The user account linked to the contact, if any.
- `userId` — The unique identifier of the user account linked to the contact.
- `vaAffiliated` — Whether the contact is affiliated with the US Department of Veterans Affairs.
